UA UCLA Basketball 2010

Thoughts as I watch the Arizona-UCLA basketball game

I will never believe the press reports on a recruit again. I will ALWAYS wait until I see the guy before I get my hopes up. Kyryl, the UA center, came to the program with great reviews. This guy is absolutely horrible.

Four Tennessee basketball players arrested today for having guns and drugs in their lockers? Really? Ok, you flipping half ass ganster losers. I get the drugs. Drugs equals money or fun. I get the guns. With lots of money, you may need a gun to defend your stuff. But you bring it to your LOCKER? Same thing with Gilbert Arenas. In your LOCKER?? You are dumb enough to bring it to work? And now the judicial system will take it easy on you because maybe you just made a mistake. You’ll probably get probation. I’d lock your asses up. 5 years for being stupid.

‘Cats have no offense. Dumping it in to the freshie D. Williams is what we do I guess. He is a 6 out of 10 to me. He looks like an 8 because of the even poorer play of his teammates.

Boring game. Williams gets to the line so much because he misses everything. Lots of late whistles being called in basketball today. The refs like to see if the ball goes in. Then, no harm, no foul. On a miss, foul. I don’t hate this.

Fogg is the best player on the team when you look at talent, performance, basketball IQ, and effort.

Best the UA has played this year. Why? UCLA isn’t very athletic.

Hill is clearly playing differently in front of his CA home. He wanted the ball against USC and wants it again today. Nice to see. Maybe he could do this in games outside of CA also.

32-15. Now 32-19. Got a bad feeling we’re going to blow a big lead to a bad team.
2 missed free throws. Kick a turnover out of bounds. Just ugly. I’m so spoiled. I used to love PAC 10 basketball. Getting a split on the road really meant something.

Quick list of guards. Russell Brown, Joe Nehls, Eric Money, Craig McMillan, Steve Kerr, Kenny Lofton, Matt Muehlbach, Matt Othick, Harvey Mason, Salim Stoudamire, Miles Simon, Mike Bibby, Damon Stoudamire, (second greatest UA basketball player of all time in my opinion) Joe McLean (ha, who else in AMERICA remembers that guy), Jason Gardner, Michael Dickerson, Mustafa Shakur, Gilbert Arenas, Jason Terry, Khalid Reeves (3rd greatest) We are spoiled.

Fogg layup. He got open with a backscreen near the elbow. Maybe we do have an offense. But this year, we don’t have “finishers”. Hard to explain, but I have no confidence that any of this year’s team, can “feel” where the d is and find the best shot. None have ever heard of a ball fake. And when was the last backscreen dunk? Happened at least once a game. Zone D? Backscreen off the wing.

Kyryl just throws it at the basket from his chin. HORRIBLE!!!

Cats do NOT blow lead. Well played game especially by Fogg. After Nebraska and BYU, I needed a good game. Go Cats.
